Sunlit, almost-empty living room with bare floorboards and open windows on handover day
Household & small-office removals

Your things, carried like they are still being used.

We survey the property first, pack what you ask us to pack, and put every box in the room it belongs in. No hourly meter, no guessing at the kerb.

  • Coverage
Local moves across the county, plus long-distance runs with one driver from door to door.
  • Crews
Two to five movers, matched to the survey — never one person wrestling a wardrobe alone.
  • Quotes
Fixed written price after the survey, held for 60 days, itemised by crew, vehicle and materials.
What we move

Three ways we work

Pick the one closest to your situation. The crew size, vehicle and day length below are the figures we start from before the survey adjusts them.

Furnished living room with a sofa, side table and rug ready to be packed

Flats & walk-ups

Studios through three-bed flats, including upper floors with no lift. We measure the stair turn and the door width at survey so nothing has to be taken apart on the landing.

Move-day plan

Five stages, in this order

Every booking runs the same sequence. You will know which stage the crew is in without having to ask.

  1. 01

    Survey & written quote

A mover walks the property with you, room by room, noting volume, access, parking and anything fragile or awkward. You get a fixed, itemised price in writing — not an estimate that moves on the day.

  2. 02

    Packing day

Usually the day before. Kitchens, wardrobes and books go into labelled cartons; artwork and mirrors into rigid picture cases. Pack only the awkward rooms if you would rather do the rest yourself.

  3. 03

    Protect & load

Floor runners and door guards first, then furniture blanketed and strapped. Loading follows an unload plan, so the first thing off the truck is the thing you need first — the kettle, the bedding, the tools.

  4. 04

    Transit

The crew that loads is the crew that drives. For long-distance moves one named driver stays with the load the whole way, and you get a call before departure and before arrival.

  5. 05

    Place, assemble & check

Boxes go to the labelled room, beds and tables are reassembled, and we walk the inventory with you before the truck leaves. Empty cartons and used wrap are collected within a week.

The quote

What's in, what isn't

Written plainly so there is nothing to argue about on the day. Anything in the right-hand column can usually be arranged — it is simply priced separately.

Included as standard

  • Pre-move survey and a fixed written quote held for 60 days.
  • Furniture blankets, straps, floor runners and door protection.
  • Dismantling and reassembly of beds, tables and flat-pack wardrobes.
  • Room labelling, an inventory walk-through and placement at the far end.
  • Collection of empty cartons and used wrap within seven days.
  • Goods-in-transit cover for the whole load while it is with us.

Quoted separately

  • Full packing service, or packing of a single room such as the kitchen.
  • Pianos, safes, large aquariums and stone or glass table tops.
  • Storage between completion dates, billed by the crate or by the week.
  • Appliance disconnection or reconnection needing a qualified trade.
  • Parking suspensions or permits where the street requires them.
  • Disposal or charity drop-off of furniture you are leaving behind.
Materials index

What we pack things into

Useful if you are packing part of the move yourself — these are the sizes we work to, and they stack together in the truck.

Standard carton

45 × 35 × 40 cm · double wall

The default box for kitchenware, toys, linens and shoes. Fill it to the top with soft items so the lid does not dish when something is stacked on it.

Book carton

35 × 27 × 30 cm · heavy duty

Small on purpose. Books, tools, tinned food and records go in here so no single box becomes a two-person lift.

Wardrobe crate

50 × 60 × 110 cm · hanging rail

Hanging clothes transfer straight off the rail and back onto it. Coats and suits never see a crease, and the wardrobe empties in minutes.

Picture case

Adjustable to 150 cm · rigid

Framed art, mirrors and glazed prints travel upright and corner-protected, never flat in the stack.

Reusable lidded crate

60 × 40 × 32 cm · stackable

Our office and studio standard. Hired by the week, delivered flat-packed, and collected afterwards so nothing goes to recycling.

Mattress & sofa covers

Single to super king · fitted

Zipped covers rather than taped plastic, so upholstery stays clean through the van and the hallway without tape touching fabric.

Open-plan workspace with a wide corridor and large windows, typical of an access survey

Access notes

Tell us the awkward parts first

Access, not volume, is what usually changes a moving price. Mention these when you enquire and the quote will hold.

  • Floor number, and whether the lift takes a wardrobe crate standing up.
  • Stair turns, low ceilings on the landing, or a door narrower than 76 cm.
  • How far the van can park from the door, and whether a permit is needed.
  • Gravel, steps, a shared gate or a private road with a weight limit.
  • Completion or key times you cannot control at either end.
  • Anything heavier than two people can carry, or anything irreplaceable.
Questions

Before you book

Does the survey cost anything?

No. A mover visits, walks the rooms with you and sends a written quote within two working days. You are not committed to anything by booking one, and we would rather see the property than price it blind from a room count.

How far ahead should I book?

Four to six weeks for a weekday, longer for a Friday or a month-end, which are the busiest slots. If your date is not yet fixed we can hold a provisional slot off the back of the survey and confirm it when your dates land.

What happens if my completion is delayed?

Tell us as soon as you know. If the delay is on the day, the load stays secure on the truck or moves into storage overnight, and we restart the next working morning. Moving the date in advance is free up to 72 hours before; inside that window we charge for the crew already committed.

Can you move only part of my home?

Yes. Part-loads and single-item moves are common — a piano to one address, a bedroom to another. These are priced by volume and distance rather than by the day, so a half-empty truck does not cost you a full one.

How are fragile and valuable items handled?

Glass, ceramics and artwork are packed by the crew rather than by you, wrapped individually and listed on the inventory. Jewellery, passports, medication and anything irreplaceable should travel with you; we will remind you the day before.

Do I need to be there on the day?

Someone should be at each end to point rooms out and sign the inventory. It does not have to be you — a friend, a letting agent or a family member is fine, as long as we know their name in advance and they can reach you.
